Donald D. Newell

Donald D. Newell, 73, Bidwell, passed away Monday November 29, 2010 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 1, 1937 in Mason County, West Virginia, son of the late Roy and Freda Newell. Donald was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local #521 for more than fifty years, and a member of the White Oak Baptist Church, Bidwell. In his spare time, he enjoyed rebuilding and repairing automobiles.
Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Eggleton Newell; son, Scott (Jodi) Newell, Gallipolis; daughter, Kristy Newell, Bidwell; step-son, Nakuma Roberts, Bidwell; grandchildren, Aubrey Newell, Gallipolis; Cierra and Tyler Roberts, Bidwell; brother, Robert (Louise) Newell, St. Petersburg, Florida; sisters, Betty (Frank) Miller and Marie Plants, both of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by brothers Roy Jr. and Nelson Newell.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2010 at the White Oak Baptist Church, 1555 Nibert Rd, Gallipolis with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia. Friends and family may call at the McCoy- Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel Thursday, December 2 5:00-8:00 PM.
