Donald L. Phillips Jr., 72, Columbus, Ohio passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at his residence after a short illness. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Notomine, West Virginia, son of Opal Stout Phillips of Bidwell, Ohio and the late Donald. L. Phillips, Sr. He was retired from Burton Metal Finishing. He also worked for Federal Glass, Buckeye Steel, and WalMart at Whitehall. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
In addition to his mother, Donald is survived by his wife of fifty years, Elostine Phillips; his sons, Damon (Rebecca) Phillips, Pataskala, Ohio; David Phillips, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Delton Phillips, Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Earldine Ingram, Poca, West Virginia; grandchildren: Josh (Tara) Phillips, Charleston, West Virginia; Ashleigh (Nathan) Etheridge, Scotts Hill, Tennessee; Delton "D.J." Phillips, home; Victoria Phillips, Lima, Ohio; Thomas Phillips, Columbus, Ohio; step-daughter, Mandy (Tommy) Cook, Seymour, Indiana; step-granddaughter, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Donald was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lurie West, brother-in-law, Clyde Ingram and grandson, Jonathon Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 1, 2010 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Patricia Henson and Rev. David Hutch officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit Columbus, 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Community Park Church of God of Prophecy, 1393 Community Park Drive, Columbus.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 6:00-8:00 PM.
