Dorothy Jean (Crouse) Mefford

Dorothy Jean Crouse Mefford, 71, Vinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 14, 2010 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. She was born July 20, 1936 at Bladen, Ohio, daughter of the late William H. and Martha Eblin Crouse. She married Carl T. Mefford December 28, 1955, at Northup, Ohio, and he preceded her in death January, 2004. In addition, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Mefford; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Pollock; and three brothers: Francis, Harley and Fred Crouse.
She is survived by a grandson, Jeremy Ryan (Jennifer) Pollock, and their daughter, Aubrey Shaye Pollock, Ewington, Ohio; granddaughter, Hannah Dawn Pollock and her mother, Stephanie McKenzie, Jackson, Ohio; sister, Betty (James) Davis, Bidwell, Ohio (Evergreen Community); very special friend, Betty Hollingsworth, Bidwell, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
Dorothy was a member of the Vinton American Legion Post 161, Ladies Auxiliary, the DAV Auxiliary, the Vinton Garden Club, and was a Huntington Township Poll Worker.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
