Dorothy Sayre (Davis) Smith

Dorothy Sayre Smith, 90, Wilkesville, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Edgewood Manor of Wellston. She was born May 4, 1920 in Wilkesville, daughter of the late Donald and Forrest Davis. Dorothy was a member of the Salem Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving is one son, Danny (Debra) Sayre, and one daughter, Peggy (James) Shifflet, both of Wilkesville; six grandchildren, Annette (Brian) Ford and Charles (Shellie) McMurray, both of Columbus, Ohio; Michael (Renee) McMurray, Chillicothe, Ohio; Kammy (Eddie) Frye, Rodney, Ohio; Penny Sayre, Wellston, and Bridget (Mark) Cales, Jackson, Ohio; nine great grandchildren and one sister, Ardith Rollins, Jackson, Ohio.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Rilla Lou Sayre; husbands, Daniel Sayre and Floyd Smith.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio, with Pastor John Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Center Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday.
