Dorothy L. (Miller) Rippey

Dorothy L. Rippey, 92, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home. She was born June 6, 1925 in Morgan Township, Ohio, daughter of the late Scott "Dinky" Miller and Mildred "Jenny" Miller. Dorothy was employed for twenty-three and one-half years by the Gallipolis Developmental Center before her retirement in January of 1990. After retirement, she went to work as a part time night sitter at Holzer Medical Center. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Church, Bidwell Ohio. She married John B. Rippey who preceded her in death November 8, 1992.
From this union was born a daughter, Cheryl (Walter) Gray, Bedford, New Hampshire, who survives with Dorothy's grandchild, Akili Gray, Dallas, Texas; sister: Clara "Marge" Borden, Bidwell, Ohio; brother, Scott (Mary) Miller, Springfield, Ohio and nieces, Jane, Maryland; Hillary, Springfield, Ohio; Veneita Miller, Bidwell, Ohio who provided loving care and support to her Aunt Dot and special friend and caregiver, Carol Petty, Bidwell, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, January 12, 2018 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Cheryl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM.
