Dugan Adkins

Dugan Adkins, 90, Patriot, Ohio passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis Saturday, July 21, 2012. He was a WWII Army Medic serving in several countries and he was also a retired employee of the General Motors Delco Morine. Mr. Adkins was born February 22, 1922 in Tennessee. Preceding him in death was his wife, Edna Mae Thornsburry Adkins in 2001 and one son, Doug Adkins.
He is survived by seven children: Michael "Butch" (Linda) Adkins, Fairborn, Ohio; Shirle Kay Adkins, Jackson, Ohio; James Randall (Joanna) Adkins, Bidwell, Ohio; Donald (Janette) Adkins, South Point, Ohio; Carol Pitchford, Middleport, Ohio; Jack (Chris) Adkins, Hollandburg, Ohio and Kenny (Mary) Adkins, Dayton, Ohio. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday, July 27, 2012 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Eugene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Centerpoint Cemetery near Thurman. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veteran Service Organizations. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to the service.
