Earl Franklin Mayo Sr., 69, Bidwell, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Friday, March 30, 2007. He was born March 2, 1938 in Kerr, Ohio, son of the late Edwin Mayo and Sarah Guthrie Mayo. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Ohio Valley Electric and had also been employed at G.D.C., Holzer Hospital, Gallia Co. Sheriff's Department as a Special Deputy, and the Gallia County Local Schools, where he was a bus driver. He attended the Fellowship of Faith, Gallipolis.
Earl was married to Vada Evans, who survives with their four children: Herman (Venitta) Mayo, Gallipolis; Earl Mayo Jr., Carman Mitchell, and Lusher Mayo all of Bidwell; three grandchildren: Whitley Ann Mayo and Danielle A. Mayo, Gallipolis; Jamil Stepney, Bidwell; sisters: Juanita Howard, Cincinnati, Ohio and Pauline Smith, Spokane, Washington; sister-in-law, Luella Henry, Bidwell and brother-in-law, William Jackson, Gallipolis.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Wayne, Robert, Lawrence and Ivan Mayo.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 PM.
