Eddie A. Thompson, 58, Vinton, Ohio passed away Friday, July 24, 2015. He was born in Gallipolis, Ohio June 5, 1957 to the late Albert and Gladys Jackson Thompson. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Burns and Son of Henderson, West Virginia.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Karen Russell Thompson, whom he married May 18, 2009 in Sevierville, Tennessee, following a nearly six year engagement. Also surviving are four children: Jennifer Thompson, Port Orange, Florida; Pamela (Ricky) Holt, Moultrie, Georgia; Christy Dean, Marianna, Florida and Derick Thompson, Vinton, Ohio and a step-son, Darrell (Jeni) Holland, Circleville, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren: Kyle and Sierra Swiger; Dalton Johnson; Jessica and Gauge Dean; Domeian Holt; Keith, Kevin and Kolby Dean; Seth, Elizabeth and Gabriel Wilson; Miah, Lexi and Addey Holland; six brothers and three sisters: Haskell, Michael, Dewie, Tommy and Patrick Thompson, all of Florida and Curtis Thompson, Bidwell, Ohio; Sue Close, Debra Thompson and Sarah (Sissy) Mitchell, all of Florida also. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, Darrell and Gloria Russell, Vinton, Ohio and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Thompson and sister, Janet Farmer.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Morgan Center Christian Holiness Church near Vinton with Pastor Ted Russell officiating. Graveside Committal will follow in the Morgan Center Cemetery.
