Edna M. (Stevens) Payne

Edna M. Payne, 99, Bidwell, passed away May 19, 2004 in Holzer Senior Care Center. She was born January 27, 1905 in Gallia County, the daughter of the late William E. Stevens and Adaline Nuby Stevens. Mrs. Payne was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Bidwell.
She was preceded in death by one son, E. Maurice Payne; three brothers, Roy, Carl, and William Stephens; and one sister, Blanch Strawther.
She is survived by three children: Helen Boyd, Middleport, Joanne Bass, Bidwell, and Bobby E. (Iris) Payne, Middleport; one daughter-in-law, Marjorie Payne, Bidwell; nine grandchildren: David (Janice) Boyd, Middleport; Donna Boyd, Middleport; Carol Petty, Bidwell; Greg (Janice) James, Bidwell; Lori (Greg) Lafferty, Bidwell; Raelene Holland, Columbus; Kim Payne, Middleport; Angela Payne, Middleport and Richard (Robin) Payne, Bidwell; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a twin sister, Ada Payne, Bidwell.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 24, 2004 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery in Gallipolis. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton from 3:00-6:00 PM Sunday, May 23, 2004.
