Eleanore "Ellie" Ellen Alderson

Eleanore Ellen "Ellie" Alderson, 89, formerly of Patriot, Ohio, passed away at Holzer Senior Care, Sunday, September 20, 2015. She was born November 8, 1925 in Duluth, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Edward Albert and Hilda Melfried Johnson Hamlin. Ellie was married to Willie Eugene "Gene" Alderson, who preceded her death June 24, 2003. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Rio Grande, Ohio and former member of The French Colony Chorus, Sweet Adelines, Gallipolis, Ohio.
Ellie is survived by a daughter, Lori (David) Cody, Patriot, Ohio and grandchildren: Heidi (Nicholas) Tipple, Gallipolis, Ohio; Sean (Meghan) Cody, Carmel, Indiana; Morgan Cody, Peyton Cody and Abigail Cody, all of Patriot, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Emma Marie Tipple, Hannah Grace Tipple, Ella Louise Tipple, Owen Riley Cody and Calvin James Cody and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ellie was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, Septemeber 23, 2015 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with David Cody officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to services.
