Elizabeth Lillian "Izzy" (Adkins) Bellomy

Elizabeth Lillian "Izzy" Adkins Bellomy, 89, Gallipolis died Sunday September 4 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born April 12, 1916 in Lincoln County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Martin and Mollie Stratton Adkins. She married Lloyd Bellomy September 13, 1932 at Midkiff, West Virginia and he preceded her in death September 2, 1982. She had formerly resided at Arbors of Gallipolis from September 13, 2002 until June 28, 2005 and then lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Dora and Rev. Eugene Bare of Gallipolis. She was a member of the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church of Rita, West Virginia.

In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Bertha Bellomy, Crown, West Virginia; four grandchildren: Eddie Ray Bare, Ashland, Ohio; John Benton Bellomy, San Antonio, Texas; Gary Dean Bellomy, Fairfield, Pennsylvania and Christopher Wayne Bellomy, Danville, West Virginia; eight great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.

Also preceding her in death were grandson, David Eugene Bare February 19, 2005; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Mabel Adkins and Eldon Peters; Myrtle Adkins and John Daley and Minerva Adkins and Wesley Bartram; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Georgia Songer Adkins.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday September 8, 2005 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with the Rev. Bazzel Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Bidwell. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00-9:00 PM.
