Ellen Anne (Waugh) Werry

Ellen Anne Werry, 62, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away May 5, 2022 at her home. Ellen courageously battled ovarian cancer for three years.

She was born February 7, 1960, daughter of the late Howard R. and Jessie Mae (Hill) Waugh, at Gallipolis. A 1978 graduate of Gallia Academy High School, she attended Holzer School of Nursing in Gallipolis, graduating in 1981. She was employed at Holzer Medical Center, for her entire career, and she worked in several units before her retirement in September 2020 with thirty-nine years in nursing.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Kevin Werry and daughter, Jessica (J.P.) Varian, both of Gallipolis; stepson, Kaleb (Kaley) Werry, Marietta, Ohio; grandchildren: Colton and Savannah Mills, Sophie Varian, Karlee and Sylas Werry, Grayson and Morgan Toncray. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Eric (Lou Ellen) Werry, Bidwell, Ohio and nephew, Brian (Sarah) Reapp, Florida.

Ellen loved reading, taking her grandchildren on vacation, going to the beach and attending Colton's football and baseball games and watching Savannah cheer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony "Tony" and Jane Werry, half-brother, Michael Reapp, nephew, Patrick Reapp and niece, Gracie Reapp.

A special Thank You to Rachel Shafer, Susan Haft, cousin – Carla Swain and friends at work for calling, stopping by and talking and laughing with Ellen.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Bob Fulton officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 AM to the service hour. Private entombment will be held in Centenary Cemetery, Gallipolis, at the convenience of the family.
