Elsie (Stalnaker) Higley

Elsie Stalnaker Higley, 95, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 16, 1920 at Gay, West Virginia, daughter of the late Robert H. and Nora Estaline (Coon) Stalnaker. She retired from Holzer Medical Center where she served in the Food Preparation Department and she was a member of Springfield Baptist Church near Bidwell.
She is survived by two daughters: Joyce L. (Jim McBride) Robie, Bidwell and L. Kay Bowen, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Higley August 15, 2009; sons, Raymond and Kenneth Higley; a grandson, great-grandson, eight brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Rev. Alfred Holley, officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday 5:00-7:00 PM.
