Emerson Eugene Reynolds

Emerson Eugene Reynolds, 88, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell, Ohio. Born July 10, 1933 at Morehead, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William and Emma (Wilson) Reynolds. Emerson married Janet Lee Dunn Reynolds who preceded him in death January 22, 2016. A self-employed logger and woodworker, he also worked at the Raccoon #3 Coal Mine.

To this union were born their children: Linda Slayton, Gallipolis; William E. (Robin) Reynolds, South Point, Ohio; Steven (Darlene) Reynolds and Randy (Adeania) Reynolds, both of Gallipolis; twelve grandchildren: Yasminda and Melissa Dezeeuw; Jeremy Slayton; Jessica Fisher; Jenny Hager; Zackary, Zane and Ryan Reynolds; Shaina Perez; Shaun Reynolds; Dustin Reynolds and Cody Glenn and twenty great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Emerson was well loved by the area waitresses whom he enjoyed talking to daily and he was an avid NASCAR fan following Dale Earnhart throughout the years.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by daughter, Sharon Ayling and sisters Wilma, Jeanetta, Maxine and Avonell.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 11:00 AM to the service hour.
