Emma Lee (Pratt) Marcum
August 24, 1929 — March 11, 2009
Emma Lee Pratt Marcum, 79, Galloway, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born August 24, 1929 in Radnor, West Virginia, daughter of the late Concie and Minnie Hardwick Pratt. Emma married Ishmael Marcum on November 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death along with two brothers, James and Edward Pratt, a sister, Edith Mehl and one daughter Marina Lynn Isaac.
She is survived by seven children: Gerry (Carol) Pratt, Porter; James (Noemi) Marcum, Fayetteville, North Carolina; Randy (Linda) Marcum, Birmingham, Alabama; Charley (Chris) Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; Pam Alley, Galloway; Eddie Marcum, Columbus, Ohio and Cathy Hebel, Florida; two granddaughters reared in her home, Crystal Noble and Michelle Stonerock, both of Columbus, Ohio. Emma is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Emma Lee loved the Lord and cherished family and friends. She always welcomed others in need into her home. She touched the hearts of many and will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday March 16, 2009 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with Pastor Jeff Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendelton-Marcum Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 3:00-6:00 PM.
