Erica Jo (Curnutte) Bates

Erica Jo Bates, 44, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at her residence following a battle she refused to surrender to. She was born October 4, 1980, in Gallipolis, daughter of Michael Ray Curnutte and Peggy Sue 'Suzi" (Saunders) Curnutte of Gallipolis.

In addition to her parents, Erica is survived by her loving husband, Ryan Bates, treasured sons, Garrett Ray Curnutte, Eric Michael Swartz and Logan Alan Bates; sister, Mindy (Eric) Foster-Saunders and niece, Jaela Foster, all of Gallipolis.

Erica was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Arthur "Bob" and Marjorie Saunders, paternal grandparents, Donald and Lavina Curnutte and brother-in-law, Howie Foster.

Erica was a loving wife, doting mother, devoted daughter and a sister's best friend.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 9, 2025, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Pastor Mike King, officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
