Erma (Mulford) Hersman

Erma Mulford Hersman, 78, Vinton, Ohio passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis Sunday evening, February 24, 2013. She was born in Middleport, Ohio December 12, 1934 daughter of the late Theodore W. Whittington and Dorothy Bartrum Whittington. She regularly attended the Fellowship Baptist Church, Gallipolis and she was a faithful volunteer at the Vinton Baptist Church Food Pantry.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband Charles Mulford in 1961. Surviving this union are two children: Dennis (Pam) Mulford, Elkhart, Indiana and Debbie (Rick) Moore, Gallipolis. Also surviving are grandchildren: Chris (Sheena) Moore, Jason (Candace) Moore, Bridgett Dugan, Jessica Dugan, Tammy Batch and Angie Hite; great-grandchildren: Kylie and Brayden Moore; Madelyn Moore, Corina Harlan, Scott Harlan, Taylor Dugan, Brandon Fannian and great-great-granddaughter, Serenity Harlan.

In addition, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Yvonne Whittington, Middleport; a special friend, Tom Treleaven, Bidwell and several nieces and nephews.

Erma was also preceded in death by husband, Eugene Hersman and four brothers and two sisters: Charles, Clifford, Louis and Leslie Whittington; Marie Buck and Wilma Whittington.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Pastor Phillip Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 5:00-8:00 PM.
