Ernie Lee Mccown

Ernie Lee McCown, 70, Wilkesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018, in Four Winds Nursing Facility, Jackson, Ohio. Born July 14, 1948 in Pike County, Kentucky, he was the son of Thompson Farley and Ocie McCown. Ernie was a mechanic working for Vinton County Garage Department for many years. He married Donna Denney McCown January 17, 1968 in Grundy, Virginia, and she survives.

Also surviving are his son, Jamie (Tawnya) McCown, Radcliff, Ohio and daughter, Ida (Dean Marco) McCown, Hilliard, Ohio; step-daughter, Carolyn Conner, Macon, Georgia and step-son, Bobby Joe Lester, Ravenswood, West Virginia; grandchildren: Sarah Cruey, Amber (Brian Buckley) McCown, Tessa Fraley and Arron (Mackenna Cole) McCown; great-grandchildren: Dawson Massie, Lilly Massie, Roean Fraley and Arrian McCown. Ernie leaves behind his brother and sisters: Greg (Beverly) Farley, Pond Creek, Kentucky; Susie Steele, Ashville, North Carolina; Judy Pinson, Davis Branch, Kentucky and Marcia (Jackie) Hundley, Lenore, West Virginia; aunt, Fairy McCown, Vinton, Ohio, great-aunt, Myrtle McCoy, Vinton, Ohio and a special friend, Doug Crabtree, Jackson, Ohio.

Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers Milton, Danny and Marty Farley.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Roger Blackburn officiating. Friends and family may arrive 30 minutes prior to service time for viewing in the cemetery. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home is honored to serve the McCown Family.
