Esta Louise (Beck) Snodgrass

Esta Louise Beck Snodgrass, 92, Gallipolis, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at her residence. She was a Nursing Supervisor who retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center in 1984, and had also served as Nursing Supervisor at Laken State Hospital, Pleasant Valley Hospital and the former Holzer Hospital. She received a R.N. Degree from Portsmouth General Hospital in 1945, with Clinical Training at the Cleveland Clinic. She was a member of the Gallipolis First Baptist Church.
Esta was born May 5, 1913 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Edith Jones Beck. She was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Snodgrass, 1981; a grandson, Kevin Smith, 2002 and a grand daughter-in-law, Lora Smith, 2005; and three sisters: Carrie Myers, Helen Walters, and Hazel Wilcoxon.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: Tom Snodgrass, Gallipolis, Ohio; Patricia (Gary) Bost, Bastrop, Texas and Linda (Russell) Bowcott, Gallipolis; six grandchildren: Marisa Sanders, Gallipolis; T.J. Snodgrass, Gallipolis; Chris Smith Lemon, South Dakota; Brian Smith, Crown City, Ohio; Tricia Lawrence, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Chad Burke, Gallipolis; and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Burial will be in the Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 PM.
