Esta (Sellards) Deel

Esta Deel, 86, Vinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at her residence Thursday, December 18, 2008. She was born July 28, 1922 in Buffalo, Kentucky, daughter of the late Boone and Margaret Ellen Endicott Sellards. She was a member of the Vinton American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 161; the Gallia County 4H Hall of Fame, Gallia County Soil and Water Conservation Farm Woman of the Year; a former 4-H Advisor, former member of the NGHS Athletic Boosters, a former Chair Woman of the Gallia County 4H Food Booth at the Gallia County Junior Fair; she was a loving mother, grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included making ceramics and porcelain dolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayes Deel May 30, 2007, one brother and three sisters.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law: Roger (Linda) Deel, Jerry (Linda) Deel and Fred (Mary) Deel, all of Vinton; seven grandchildren: Gregg (Karen) Deel, Vinton; Todd (Tracy) Deel, Thurman; Erin (Jason) Dailey, Jackson; Kyle (Sarah) Deel, Vinton; Liz (Brian) Stout, Gallipolis; Chris (Tiffany) Preston, Barboursville, West Virginia and Kim (Steve) Runyon, Gallipolis; twelve great-grandchildren: Megan, Zak, Jordan, Maddie, Brea, Abby, Lexi, Alli, Sydnee, Kayla, Brady and Logan and several nieces and nephews; one sister, Ethel Harris, Scottsdale, Arizona and sister-in-law, Charlotte Sellards, Detroit, Michigan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday December 23, 2008 in the Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 SR 160, Vinton with Rev. Bob Powell and Rev. Chester Hess officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the Vinton Baptist Church Monday 4:00-8:00 PM.
