Ethel Dorlene (Mcclaskey) Dewitt

Ethel Dorlene DeWitt, 95, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at her home. She was born January 21, 1921 in Morgan Township, Ohio to the late Kerr and Rose Quickel McClaskey. She married D. Webster DeWitt June 21, 1942, in Gallipolis, Ohio, who preceded her in death May 23, 2001. Ethel retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center January 1, 1983, was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Bidwell, Ohio and attended Bidwell United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.
Ethel is survived by a son, Carl (Cheryl "Sherry") DeWitt, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Kevin DeWitt, Independence, Kentucky; Carl (Jennifer) DeWitt, Vinton, Ohio and Jeremy (Kelli) DeWitt, Gallipolis, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Evan and Addison DeWitt; sister, Esther Thomas, Bidwell, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Carol DeWitt, Gallipolis, Ohio; sister-in-law, Wanda McClaskey, Bidwell, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry DeWitt; granddaughter, Tammie DeWitt and brothers: Donovan McClaskey, Delmar McClaskey and Darrell McClaskey
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Reverend Calvin Minnis and Pastor David Garnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
