Early Sunday morning, February 24, 2013 Heaven gained another angel when God called Eugene Lee Call home as he was surrounded by his family.
Gene was known by many people throughout the county and was most of all known for his dedication and service to his church, Fellowship of Faith, where he was a member. Gene left behind a testimony that assured his family and friends that they will see him again and knew when he entered Heaven's gates that he was healed of all of his physical ailments and is now walking on the streets of gold in Heaven.
Gene was employed as a Field Foreman by the Gallia County Rural Water Company for thirty-one plus years and truly loved and appreciated his fellow coworkers.
Gene enjoyed spending time caring for the family farm. He spent numerous hours caring for the farm and took great pride in seeing that it was cared for. Gene was always ready to help anyone who called and asked for help. He had a very caring heart and loved and cherished his family. He also enjoyed taking vacations and one of his favorite places to go was Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and had to always take a drive through Cades Cove while he was there. He was also a member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance group in Jackson, Ohio.
Gene, age 62, was born March 27, 1950 in Gallia County, son of the late Hobart and Genevieve (Buck) Call. He married Valnora A. Call of Bidwell at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 7, 1990. Gene is also survived by one son, Brad (Stacey) Call, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and two daughters: Amanda Call, Gallipolis and Sheryl Goggans, Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Janet (Marlin) Kingery, Bidwell; mother-in-law, Naomi Loel, Londonderry, Ohio and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Randy and Tammy Baxter, Londonderry; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at The Fellowship of Faith Church 20344 SR 554, Rio Grande, Ohio with Pastor Greg Scott and Michael Denney officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Ohio. Friends may call at the church Wednesday 5:00-8:00 PM.
