Eugene C. Johnston

Eugene C. Johnston, 90, Springfield, Ohio and formerly of Langsville, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016. He was born October 12, 1925 in Iaeger, West Virginia to the late Julius and Birdie Jenks Johnston. He was a member of the Wilkesville F & AM Orphan's Friend Lodge #275, Roofer's Local #175 and a served in the United States Navy. He married Wanda B Caton who preceded him in death in 2008.
Eugene is survived by his five children: Cecil (Becky) Johnston, Langsville, Ohio; Keith Johnston, Langsville, Ohio; Melva (Jay) Tracy, Pomeroy, Ohio; B.J. (Jim) Lama, Springfield, Ohio and Vicki (Roy) Taylor, Rutland, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, George (Diane) Johnston, Washburn, Missouri; sisters, Jaunita Lambert and Mary Amey, both of Joplin, Missouri and special brother-in-law, Larry Smith, Langsville, Ohio.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday, June 23, 2016. Masonic services will be conducted at 5:45 PM Thursday by Wilkesville F & AM Lodge #275.
In accordance with Eugene's wishes Cremation services will follow. Interment will be in Salem Center Cemetery, Meigs County at the discretion of the family.
