Evalyn (Hoover) Campbell
June 17, 1920 — December 7, 2003
Evalyn Campbell, 83, Kettering, Ohio (formerly of Harrisburg, Gallia County) passed away in Heartland of Kettering Sunday, December 7, 2003. She was a cook in the Fairland Local School District for fifteen years prior to her retirement in 1988 and a member of the Harris Baptist Church, Harrisburg. Evalyn was born June 17, 1920 in Alvin, West Virginia, daughter of the late Bernis and Jessie Florence Reiter Hoover. She married Henry Leroy Campbell November 28, 1942 in Covington, Kentucky and he preceded her in death March 4, 1994. Also preceding her in death were a brother, Wendell Hoover and a sister, Ruby Garnet Meeks.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Linda Campbell, Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren: Julie Campbell, Dayton, Ohio; Dawn (Rich) Leach, Franklin, Ohio and Donald Campbell, Dayton, Ohio as well as one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the Harris Baptist Church, Harrisburg with Rev. Ronnie Lemley officiating. Interment will be in the Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio Tuesday 5:00-7:00 PM.
