Evelyn S. Amos, 88, of Haydenville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Logan Health Care Center, Logan, Ohio. She was born February 20, 1923 in Rutland, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Iva Kapp Thomas.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Quentin Cadd and Edward E. Amos. She was a member of the Haydenville United Methodist Church, a Charter Member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 161, Vinton, Ohio and a member of the Vinton OES, 375.
She is survived by one son, Monte E. (Dianne) Amos, Logan, Ohio; one granddaughter, five step-grandchildren, fourteen step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, Evelyn was preceded in death by one son, Quentin Cadd; and three brothers: Donald, Clifford and George Thomas; four sisters: Ruth Graham, Georgia Thomas, Rosalie McGlothlin and Margie Deckard.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm, Monday, October 3, 2011 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 Main Street, Vinton, Ohio, with Rev. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Sunday, October 2, 2011, 3:00 - 5:00 PM.
