Everneather Scott, 76, Bidwell, Ohio (formerly of Florence, Alabama) passed away in Bidwell Tuesday, August 5, 2008. He was born August 22, 1931 in Florence, Alabama, son of the late Robert and Odia Perkins Scott.
He retired from the General Motors Corporation, Defiance, Ohio, following thirty two years service in the Maintenance and Repair Department. Following his retirement, he served as Associate Minister of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Bidwell and the Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Buck Ridge in Gallia County, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters: William Frederick (Margaret) Scott, Radcliff, Kentucky; Harshel D. (Dorthy) Scott, Florence, Alabama; Gabriel (Veronica) Scott, Mussell Shoals, Alabama; Pamela Brown, Detroit, Michigan; Leneth E. (Al) Harvey, Lima, Ohio; Karen(James) Brooks, Toledo, Ohio; three step-daughters: Jacqulin Neal, Columbus, Ohio; Eleanor Carter, Huntsville, Alabama and Ella Scott, Florence, Alabama; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Willie (Essie) F. Scott, Florence, Alabama and sister, Millitie Thompson, Atlanta, Georgia.
Also surviving are his fiancée, Joanne Bass, and her children: Carol Petty, Greg (Janice) James, Lori (Greg) Lafferty, Raelene Holland; and a special grandson Raysean Allen, Dayton, Ohio along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Ohio Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2008 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Bidwell with Rev. Gene Armstrong officiating. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Friday, 6:00-9:00 PM.
Alabama Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday August 16, 2008 in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church near Florence, Alabama. Friends may call at the Bethel Church on Saturday, 10:00 AM until service time.
Alabama arrangements are by the Saints Funeral Home.
