Florence O. (Reynolds) Erwin

Florence O. Reynolds Erwin, 86, Chillicothe, Ohio passed away March 2, 2010 at Four Winds Nursing Facility in Jackson, Ohio. She was born January 31, 1924 in Eno, Ohio, daughter of the late Levi and Reva Rupe Reynolds.
Florence was a 1941 graduate of Bidwell-Porter High School and a 1945 graduate of the Holzer School of Nursing in Gallipolis. In addition, she attended the Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona. A registered nurse, she retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Chillicothe in 1980, following thirty four years in the Civil Service System. She served as Captain in the Army Nurse Corp Reserve during the Korean War and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Porter, Ohio.
Surviving is daughter Audris (Wayne) Perriman, Kingman, Arizona; granddaughter, Michelle Gillespie and great-grandsons, Christian and Kasper Gillespie, all of Kingman, Arizona; sisters, Esther James and Lucille Thaxton, both of Gallipolis, Ohio and Louise (Dexter) White, Wilmington, Ohio; brother-in-law, Delbert Hanna, Gallipolis, Ohio and sister-in-law, Wanda McClaskey and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Erwin on July 31, 1990; one brother, Ralph Reynolds; sisters, Helen Ferrell and Frances Hanna; brother-in-law, George Ferrell; grandson-in-law, Gale Gillespie.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio. Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00-2:00 PM.
