Gail (Carpenter) Steele

Gail Carpenter Steele, 103, Wilkesville, Ohio passed away at her residence Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She was born April 19, 1916 at Madison Heights, Virginia, daughter of the late George Carpenter and Alice Monroe Carpenter. She attended the Wilkesville United Methodist Church and she married Robert H. Steele December 2, 1941 at Wilkesville, Ohio who preceded her in death February 2, 2008.

Gail is survived by one son and three daughters: Robert A. (Darlene) Steele of Sunbury, Ohio, Judy (Jack) Yates of Logan, Ohio, Nancy Steele of Wilkesville, Ohio and Linda (John) Morgan of Wellston, Ohio  Also surviving are six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a brother, Cecil (Rita) Carpenter of Minford, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Brobst, Rachel Donahue, Florence Fry, Wanda McCambridge, Velda Mae Carpenter and Cloris Portwood.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday September 20, 2019 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services Friday.
