Gayle Carleen (Craig) Brown

Gayle Carleen (Craig) Brown, 72, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the Holzer Medical Center. She was born august 22, 1952, in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Lucille (Doss) Craig. Gayle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family and friends.

Gayle was an intervention specialist beginning her career at Guiding Hand School and later at Vinton Elementary School and River Valley Middle School. She retired from the Gallia County Local Schools in 2011 following 35 years of service. Gayle was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Gallia County Retired Teachers Association and Paint Creek Baptist Church, Gallipolis.

Gayle married Harvey Brown of Bidwell on September 24, 1983, and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Harvey Allan Brown II of Portsmouth and Eric Allan Brown of Columbus; grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Cherry Point, North Carolina and Benjamin Brown, Bidwell, Natasha Pleasant, South Point and Davon Leonard, Huntington, West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Rose Pleasant and Uriah Allen Self and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents Gayle was preceded in death by a daughter Misti Ann Pleasant, brother, Gilbert "Gibby" Craig Jr. and nephew, Gilbert Craig III.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
