George Patton "Pat" Miller

George Patton "Pat" Miller, 71, Kerr, Ohio returned to his heavenly home Sunday, January 26, 2020 surrounded by his family. Pat was born January 11, 1949 in West Portsmouth, Ohio to his parents, George and Louise Miller.

Pat was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, Janet (Kemper) Miller, February 23, 1968. They had one daughter, Kelly (Danny) Angel; three grandchildren: Kegan (Ashley) Angel, Haley (Corey) Small, Kylie Angel and two great-grand daughters, Rose and Rae Angel. While Pat only had three biological grandchildren, countless others were blessed to call him "Papa Pat." He is also survived by his siblings: Donna (Kenneth) Tackett, Paul (Florence) Miller, Mike (Jeanie) Miller, Judy (Ronald) Dobbs, Andy (Carla) Miller, and Mary (Bob) Flaugher.

Pat attended the University of Rio Grande where he obtained an Accounting Degree. He went on to work as the Fiscal Director of Green Acre Regional Center until his retirement in 2006. Pat enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting with his son-in-law, and "competitive" fishing with his daughter. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and helping others. He was well known at Gallia Academy High School for delivering sausage gravy and biscuits to his granddaughter, Kylie.

Pat's life work was to serve the Lord through ministry. He began his service at French City Baptist Church. He later went on to help build Countryside Baptist Church in Bidwell, Ohio where he spent the remainder of his years preaching the gospel, offering spiritual guidance, and helping others build a stronger relationship with Christ. Pat was eventually named Pastor Emeritus at Countryside but considered his greatest honor to be involved in the baptism of all three of his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Countryside Baptist Church 2085 Harrisburg Road, Bidwell, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church Wednesday 5:00-8:00 PM.
