George Ed Ratliff

George Ed Ratliff, 88, a lifelong resident of Vinton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at The Ohio State University Wexner Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Harold, Kentucky on October 31, 1935 to the late George B. and Gypsy (Layne) Ratliff.

George was a graduate of Rio Grande High School, a United States Air Force Veteran and was employed in the accounting department of Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis, Ohio, Office Manager at Hillcrest Surgical Clinic, Gallipolis and as a Manager of Payroll and Accounting at Holzer Clinic Department, Gallipolis until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling and loved his chickens.

He is survived by eleven nieces and nephews: Bill Ratliff, Kenneth Ratliff, Robert Ratliff, Jim Ratliff, Cinda Saunders, Michael Shaver, Melody Smith, Kimberly Rocchi, Carletta Zalensky, Sandra Aldeen and Tony Ratliff as well as several other extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sisters: Betty Jo Ratliff and Lois Shaver and brothers: Olan Ratliff, Raymond Ratliff, Buford Ratliff and Jack Ratliff; nephew, Ricky Ratliff; great nephews, Tony Rocchi, Stephen Ratliff; great nieces, Kari Ratliff and Pamela Ratliff.

Private services were held by the family with Burial in the Vinton Memorial Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio.
