Georgia "Georgie" Ellen (Abbott) Robie

Georgia Ellen Chapman Robie, "Georgie", 66, Bidwell, Ohio (formerly of Point Pleasant, West Virginia) passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 in James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio following a short, courageous battle with illness. Georgie was born October 4, 1956 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, daughter of the late Everett Charles and Cora Melba (Donnally) Abbott. She married Steve Robie June 2, 2013, who preceded her in death November 30, 2016.

She was employed at Holzer Medical Center for twenty-eight years, serving as a cashier in the cafeteria, the Doctor's Dining room and as a cook. She enjoyed photography, flower gardening and spending time on the beach. Her passion was riding with her late husband on their Harley motorcycle – spending many days in the sun and wind. She was a member of the Ladies of Harley Group, Gallipolis, Ohio and was also an associate member of the American Legion of Point Pleasant.

Georgie will be deeply missed by her daughter, Cora Beth Chapman and granddaughters, Makenna Beth Chapman and Madison Kate Smith, all of Patriot, Ohio; sisters, Elva (Gary) Cotton, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Barbara Bechtel, Rodney, Ohio; sister-in-law, Tammi (Ernie McQuaid) Brabham; special friends, Robin and Chris Wellington, Bidwell, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by brothers Charles Abbott, Jerry Abbott, Harold Abbott and Kenny Gollianek; mother-in-law, Joyce Robie, brother-in-law, Ronnie Robie and step father-in-law, Jim McBride.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 5:00-7:00 PM in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio.

The family will be having a Receiving of Friends Thursday following the graveside at 3:30 PM in the French 500 Room at Holzer Medical Center.
