Georgia Murphy Stevens, 81, Vinton, passed away Sunday March 6, 2011 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born January 25, 1930 in Lindsey, West Virginia, daughter of the late William and Sarah Jane Pack Murphy. Georgia was a homemaker, wife and mother and a member of the Debbie Drive Chapel Church in Gallipolis. She married Verlin Lee Stevens on July 13, 1945 in Williamson, West Virginia and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2009.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Fred (Melissa) Stevens, Banner, Kentucky; Tim (Jenny) Stevens, Scott Depot, West Virginia; Ruby Stevens Turton, Vinton and Prestonburg, Kentucky; Donna (Richard) Mollohan, and Leisha (Ken) Baylor, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; eleven grandchildren: Steven (Julie) Wheeler, Jeremy (Lisa) Wheeler, Erica (Chris) Hampton, Michael (Gwynn) Mollohan, Allen (Stephanie) Stevens, Nick Buck, Ashley Baylor, Brad Baylor, Nathan Stevens, Nathan Embree and Grace Embree; nineteen great-grandchildren: Amanda, Mike, Gene, William, Cameron, Emleigh, Russell, Alexis, and Madison Wheeler; Seth and Tyler Carpenter; Brady and Kali Hampton; Matthew Mollohan; Saige Taggart; Rhiannon Lynch; Steven, Tarasen and Connor Daniels; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia, due in June.

She is also survived by her sister, Sally Stanley, Lexington, Ohio; two brothers, Amos Murphy, Edgarton, West Virginia and Elbert Murphy, Sylvania, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Jacob "TJ" Stevens; four brothers, Roy, Troy, William and Clarence Murphy; and four sisters, Virgie Mullins, Myrtle Wolford, Rebecca Price and Ollie Murphy.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. David Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 8 5:00-8:00 PM.
