Geraldine Collins Jones Phillips, 95 formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Four Winds Community, Jackson, Ohio. She was born June 9, 1917 in Matwan, West Virginia, daughter of the late Benjamin and Etta (Sizemore) Collins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Othniel Jones, September 7, 1958 and Wayne Phillips, August 10, 1990. Geraldine retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center after working as a nurses aide for several years following employment at Cox's Department Store, Gallipolis.
She is survived by four sons: Tom I. (Loretta) Jones, Jackson, Ohio; Dan I. (Carol) Jones, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; John I. (Judy) Jones, Gallipolis, Ohio and Edward I. (Sandi) Jones, Dublin, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Patty Jones, Gallipolis, Ohio; step-son, Jeffrey (Bridget) Phillips, Bidwell, Ohio and step-daughters, Deanna (Tom) Morgan, Florida and Donna Dowler, Georgia; half sister, Georgina Denney, Payson, Arizona; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, several great-step-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Heinrich Keese, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Newton I. Jones; two grandsons, two great-grandsons, one brother, one sister and three half brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday November 28, 2012 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Marvin Sallee officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 6:00-8:00 PM.
