Gladys Marie (Chapman) Maynard
January 13, 1917 — March 2, 2005
Gladys Marie Maynard, 88, Gallipolis (formerly of Vinton) Ohio, passed away at Holzer Wyngate of Gallipolis Wednesday, March 2, 2005. She was a retired seamstress for the Haskins-Tanner Clothing Store, Gallipolis and a member of the Vinton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Maynard was born January 13, 1917 in Louisa, Kentucky, daughter of the late Oliver William Chapman and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Chapman. She married Adis Maynard Sr. January 11, 1936 in South Williamson, Kentucky and he preceded her in death August 6, 1987. In addition, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Regina Maynard; a son-in-law, Bernard Holley; five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by six children: Adis Maynard Jr., Vinton; Fred (Margaret) Maynard, Painesville, Ohio; Henry Lee (Katie) Maynard, Bidwell, Ohio; Florida (Albert) Hively, London, Ohio; Martha Sue Holley, Vinton and Etta Marie (Ralph) Spence, Bidwell; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Etta Chapmen, Huntington, West Virginia and Rose Lawson, Bidwell.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2005 in the Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 State Route 160, Vinton, with Rev. Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 Main St, Vinton, Ohio Friday, 5:00-9:00 PM.
