Harold E. Shortridge

Harold E. Shortridge, 73, Thurman, Ohio went to be with the Lord Monday, April 4, 2011 at his residence, surrounded by family. He was born May 31, 1937 in Vansant, Virginia, son of the late Adam and Jessie Shortridge. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; former employee of GSI, a retired coal miner, carpenter and avid fisherman and hunter.
Harold married his loving wife, Darlene Browning, on December 24, 1956 in Hampton, West Virginia, who survives with one son, Danny (Aubrey) Shortridge, Jackson, Ohio; two daughters, Tenna (Donnie) Gilbert, Thurman, and Darlene (Henry) Ferrell, Bidwell, Ohio; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and an aunt, Ruby Walker, Princeton, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Shortridge.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Campaign Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post #161.
