Rev. Harold N. Tracewell, 75, Cheshire, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. Born September 23, 1937 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, son of the late Edward and Mildred (Lamb) Tracewell, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran and attended Mountain State College in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He married Delores Wright Tracewell October 3, 1955 and became a Minister carrying on the word for over fifty-two years.
In that time, Harold ministered to many churches, including founding the Hope Baptist Church, Parkersburg, West Virginia; served as Sr. Pastor in several churches in Ohio and West Virginia, including Emmanuel Baptist, Brunswick; Willow Island Baptist, St. Mary's; Ripley Tabernacle, Ripley; Cheshire Baptist, Cheshire and he was currently the Pastor at Bulaville Christian Church, Gallipolis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Jefferson Tracewell, Cheshire, Ohio; Edward (Carol) Tracewell, Parkersburg, West Virginia and David (Sam) Tracewell, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Glen (Carolyn) Tracewell, Parkersburg, West Virginia; sister, Irene (Robert) Seay, Bolivia, North Carolina and brother-in-law, Elmer Wright, Cheshire.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Ann Griffith.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Bulaville Christian Church, Gallipolis with Pastor Bob Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations Funeral Detail. Friends and family may call Friday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis 5:00-8:00 PM.
