Harry L. Pugh, 74, Gallipolis, Ohio died Tuesday January 14, 2003 in OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 6, 1928 at Eccles, West Virginia, son of the late Frank and Mary McGhee Pugh. He was a retired produce Manager for the Kroger Company where he was employed for thirty-six years.
Harry was an U.S. Navy Veteran and past President of the Gallia County Senior Resource Center. He was awarded the Outstanding Senior Citizen of 1992 by the District 7 Area Agency on Aging.
Harry is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, June Marie Snuffer, whom he married March 27, 1949 at Gallipolis. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Douglas (Sharon) Pugh, Mercerville, Ohio; Paul (Linda) Pugh, Vinton, Ohio and Walter (Darlene) Pugh, Bidwell, Ohio; four daughters: Carmen Lenora (James) Eggers, Bidwell; Donna (Richard) Day, Frankfort, Indiana; Diana (Thomas J.) Robinson, Swansea, Illinois and Belinda (Bob) Doan, Garland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Patty Pugh, Gallipolis; nineteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by son, Harry L. Pugh II, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2003 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Richard Graham officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 6:00-9:00 PM. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Gallia County Veterans Service Organization.
