Helen Marie Burnette, 87, Vinton, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. She was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company, Rawsonville Plant, Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Porter, Ohio; Life Member of Order of Easter Star #73, Belleville, Michigan and the White Shrine of Dearborn, Michigan.

Helen was born December 4, 1922 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Long Kraus. She married Leslie Burnette July 5, 1941 in Defiance, Ohio and he preceded her in death November 28, 2001. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera "Cookie" Dople; grandson, Edward Lewis Dople and four brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons, David (Fran) Burnette, Readyville, Tennessee and Richard (Constance) Burnette, Belleville, Michigan; grandchildren, Angela Kellee Burnette, Whitmore, Michigan; Michelle Dawn (Brent Brown) Dople, Vinton, Ohio; Scott Richard Burnette, Wayne, Michigan; Amy Rene Stambaugh, Westland, Michigan and Charles Leslie Nolan Burnette, Belleville, Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a special friend, Dorothy Sheets, Rio Grande, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday February 23, 2010 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with Rev. Chester Hess, officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday February 22, 2010 5:00-7:45 PM with Eastern Star Services to be conducted at 7:45 PM by the Vinton OES Chapter 375.
