Herbert "Clair" Dodrill
August 30, 1922 — March 9, 2005
Herbert Clair Dodrill, 82, Vinton, Ohio passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Wednesday, March 9, 2005. He was born August 30, 1922 in Vinton, son of the late Harry and Gladys McCarley Dodrill. He was a crane operator for McNally-Pittsburgh Corp, Wellston and retired in 1988 following nearly thirty years service.
Clair married Priscilla Pendleton September 21, 1952 at Vinton and she survives with two sons and one daughter: Allen (Judy) Dodrill, Gallipolis; Dennis Dodrill and Gladys (Richard) Harrison, both of Vinton; seven grandchildren: Nikki (Tom) Hogan, David (Carey) Dodrill, Brandon (Heather Jones) Dodrill, all of Vinton; Amanda (Larry) Gilmore, Cheshire; Jessica (Josh) Perry, Vinton and Rachael and Madison Harrison, Vinton; seven great-grandchildren: Ashton, Alexis, Justin Hogan; Breanna, Landen Dodrill; Levi Dodrill and McKenzie Gilmore; three sisters: Grace Dillon and Lucille Swain, Gallipolis and Eva Bell Pauley, St. Albans, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Connie Hager Dodrill and a brother, Andrew Dodrill.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Dave Stuttle officiating. Burial will be in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 5:00-8:00 PM
