On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, the day God called Jesus Home 2000 years ago, Hollie Marcum Jr., 75, Vinton, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family. Born October 28, 1945 in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Hollie and Lola (nee Chapman) Marcum.

Hollie was an owner/operator for fifty-one years as an over the road truck driver. He lived his life out of a suitcase, yet he always found his way home to visit with his family, whom he loved "bigger than life".

He attended The Way, Truth and Life Church where he sat under Pastor John Harless and his wife, Erica.

Hollie is survived by his wife, Cindy Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; his children: Dwayne (Janette) Marcum, Bidwell, Ohio; Ann (Mike) Perry, Vinton, Ohio; Johnny (Frankie) Marcum, Toledo, Ohio and their mother, Mary Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; stepson, Keith Harmon, Kermit, Kentucky; stepdaughters, Michelle (John) Grotewohl, Colorado and Erin (Charles) Craft, Michigan; nineteen grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren, all whom he cherished; brother and sisters, David Marcum, Mary Block and Sarah Israel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Margie Marcum, brothers, Ishmael, Harold, Bill, Darrell, Ronnie and Sherman and sisters, Imogene and Donna.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery Shelter House, Vinton, with Pastor John Harless officiating. Full Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Vinton American Legion #161. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, who is honored to serve the Marcum Family.

PLEASE NOTE: To respect the safety of the family and in accordance with current CDC Guidelines and COVID-19 Pandemic Protocol, face coverings are required, and social distancing is requested in the Cemetery during services. We respectfully ask that visitors not linger following the service. We and the family Thank You for this consideration.

Online registry is available via www.mccoymoore.com

The Family asks to remember Hollie as a giving, caring and loving soul – If he could ask you anything at this moment – it would be "Do you know Jesus?" and "Who's the smartest man you know?"
