Howard Parsley, 77, Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. The son of the late William Raymond Parsley and Bessie (Linley) White, he was born July 8, 1939 in Parsley, West Virginia. Howard only made it to the 10th grade when he had to quit school and help his mom raise and support the rest of the children. He worked hard to support his family and later married Shirley (Marcum) Parsley on August 26, 1961, who survives him. He worked as a coal miner and retired from Meigs Mine #1 after thirteen years of service. He joined the Old Regular Baptist family March 3, 1974 at Maggie's Home Church. He later moved his letter to the Little Angel Church in Groveport, Ohio.

Howard is also survived by five children: Jeff (Cindy) Parsley, New Salem, Ohio; Dennis (Jeanne) Parsley, Pataskala, Ohio; Kevin (Gail) Parsley, Williamsport, Ohio; Angel (Colin) Cline, Pleasantville, Ohio and Brigett (Doug) Dye, Lancaster, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: William (Kathy) Parsley, Petersburg, Virginia; James (Eloise) Parsley, Webbville, Kentucky; Barbara (Joseph) Dentro, Lenore, West Virginia;  Carol (Irvin) Hensley, Borderland, West Virginia; Mary (Tom) Mann, Lovely, Kentucky; Norma Jean (Mitchell) Elkins, Morristown, Tennessee and Earl (Debbie) White, Nolan, West Virginia as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Shirlene Parsley.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, August 5, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 208 Main St., Vinton, Ohio. Burial will follow in Marcum Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
