Howard Childers, Sr.

Howard Childers Sr., 73, Porter and Vinton, Ohio passed away Monday July 25, 2005 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was a 1950 Graduate of Vinton High School and a retired farmer and lawn and garden repair shop owner. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter.
Howard was born July 7, 1932 in Wayne County, West Virginia, son of the late Anthony and Ouida Bowen Childers. He married Mary Gay February 5, 1943 and she preceded him in death February 21, 2004.
Surviving are a son and two daughters: Fred (Marlene) Childers, Gallipolis, Ohio; Paula Childers, Vinton, Ohio and Esta Childers, Gallipolis, Ohio; three grandchildren: Erica (Shane) Whobrey, Gallipolis, Ohio; Chelsi and Joshua Radvanyi, Gallipolis, Ohio and cousins: James and Jack Childers, Janetta Skidmore, Pat, Larry and Bernard Beckett, Deloris Childers and Delores Beckett all in the Cabell County, West Virginia area.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday July 27, 2005 at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 208 Main St, Vinton with Rev. Sherren Corneen officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Bidwell. Friends may call at the Vinton Chapel Tuesday July 28, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
