November 16, 1943 — August 16, 2013
J. Darrell Marcum, 69, Vinton, Ohio went to be with the Lord Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia as a result of injuries sustained earlier from a tractor accident. He was born November 16, 1943, in Hetzel, West Virginia, son of the late Hollie and Lola Chapman Marcum. He was a retired self-employed truck driver and enjoyed farming.
Darrell is survived by his children: Lisa (Jeff) Harder, Brian (Sheri) Marcum, Steven (Kandi) Marcum and Scott (Stacey) Marcum, all of Vinton; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and the mother of his children, Sharon Stewart; three brothers: Ron Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; Hollie (Marg) Marcum, Vinton, Ohio; David (Sandy) Marcum, Bidwell, Ohio; three sisters: Mary Block, Bidwell, Ohio; Sarah (Don) Israel, Vinton, Ohio; Donna Affolter, Thurman, Ohio and sisters-in-law, Ruby and Carolyn Marcum.
He was preceded in death by sister Jean and brothers Harold, Ishmael, Bill, Jimmy and Sherman Marcum and sisters-in-law, Shirley Marcum and Emma Lee Marcum.
Darrell loved his family and friends and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who gave him great joy.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 SR 160, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Monday 4:00-8:00 PM.
