Jackie Rondal Watts Sr., 63, passed away November 10, 2004 in Marion, Indiana at the Colonial Oaks Health Care Center after battling leukemia for a year. He was born on April 9, 1941 in McVeigh, Kentucky, son of the late Ben and Ida M. (Short) Watts and lived in Vinton until his marriage to Rose Sharon Goad on December 28, 1959. He then moved to Michigan and worked at the Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti. During this time, he resided in Tecumseh, Michigan until his retirement in 1992. After retiring, he moved to Manchester, Tennessee, then on the Lakeland, Florida until July 2004.
He was a member and a past master of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge No. 382, Tennessee and the Order of the Eastern Star, Manchester No. 339.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Knotts.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Sharon (Goad), of Marion, Indiana; three children: Ruth (Herman) Cuevas, also of Marion; Robin Elaine (Watts) Swafford, of Whitwell, Tennessee, and Jackie Rondal Watts, Jr., of Tullahoma, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Marcy, Christi, Jackie III, Jessica, Tammy, Benny and Johanna; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Colton and Joseph.
He is also survived by two sisters, Oeda (David) Brown and Betty (Dewey) Molloha; and three brothers, Ben Junior (Barbara) Watts, Billy (Elaine) Watts and Roger D. (Virginia) Watts.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday and at 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday before the services. Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Park.
