James Robert Canady, Sr.

James Robert Canady Sr., 69, Vinton passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born January 7, 1941, son of the late David Squire Canada and Mary Robinson Canada. James was an auto body repair technician at Mason County Motors, Jim Mink Chevrolet and Gene Johnson Chevrolet.
He married Brenda Winston on November 19, 1969 in Gallipolis, Ohio, and she survives him along with one son: James Robert "Robbie" (Jennifer Truance) Canady, Vinton; one daughter, Christina Canady, Vinton; three grandchildren: Grant, Gabral, and Grace Canady, all of Vinton; two brothers, Jimmy (Latonya) Canady, Columbus, Ohio and Darrell Canady, Vinton; two sisters, Virginia Dotson and Shirley Johnson, both of Columbus, Ohio.
James was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben and Lorenzo Canady, as well as an infant brother; three sisters, Berta Williams, Sue Mays, and Ruth Smith and several neices and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Bethel Cemetery, near Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 12:00-1:00 PM.
