James Daniel Elkins, 35, Vinton, Ohio passed away at his residence June 4, 2009. He was born December 21, 1973 in Columbus, Ohio, son of David Eugene (Amanda) Elkins and Fannie Kay (Bill Collins) Blackburn.
He is survived by wife Georgia Renea Chapman, Vinton; three children: Kayla Elkins, Danielle Faye Elkins, James Earl Basil "Jeb" Elkins; brothers, Vernon Curtis (Cynthia) Taylor, Vinton and David Eugene O'Dell, Lancaster, Ohio; sisters, Tounya (Gary Cardwell) K. Taylor, Vinton and Bridgett Jean O'Dell, Columbus; maternal grandfather, Bennie E. Blackburn, Vinton; paternal grandfather, Mont Romans, Crum, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
Daniel is preceded by brother, David Benjamin Elkins and maternal grandmother, Millie M. Blackburn.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Monday, June 8, 2009 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Family Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Monday 11:00-12:00.
