James Allen Poteet, Sr.

James Allen Poteet, Sr., 70, Crown City, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. Born July 2, 1947 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George and Wilma Jean (Miller) Poteet, Sr. He married Louella Montgomery Poteet June 7, 1968 in Lawrence County, Ohio, and she survives.

To this union were born two daughters: Deborah Jean (Randy) Adkins, Bidwell, Ohio and Lisa Ann Poteet, Crown City, Ohio; grandchildren: Randall Lee Adkins II and Tiffany Adkins, both of Bidwell, Ohio and one great-grandson, Andrew Lee Mulford. Also surviving are brothers: George W. Poteet, Jr., John (Hazel) Poteet and Marshall (Joanne) Poteet, all of Cleveland, Ohio; sister, Dorothy (Dan) Sykora and nephew, John Poteet, Jr., both of Cleveland, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Poteet, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Richard Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Crown City, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 11:00 AM until the time of service.
