Jane Ann Lane, 77, of Rotonda West, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Born in Gallipolis, Ohio March 3, 1947, Jane was the daughter of the late Walter and Sylvia (Fulton) Mooney. Jane retired from Ohio Valley Electric (Kyger Creek) following twenty-nine years of service. Jane was always full of life, with a smile on her face and never did she meet a stranger. She was active in the GAHS Booster Club while her children were students at Gallia Academy High School. She loved to sit on her front porch as cars passed by, stopping often to visit her – her passions were her friends, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Gallia Academy Blue Devils. She spent many evenings playing Bridge and Euchre with her friends as well.
Even though Gallipolis was home, her second home was in Rotonda West where she made some very special friends during her time living there. She was an active member of Fellowship Church of Englewood, Englewood, Florida; Deep Creek Elk #2763, Punta Gorda, Florida; Rotonda VFW Post #10476 and American Legion Post #113, both in Rotunda, Florida.
More than anything, Jane loved her children, Jamie and Lana Lane, Gallipolis, Ohio; Julie and Dave Sydenstricker, Lebanon, Tennessee and Joe and Wendy Lane, Matthews, North Carolina; grandchildren: Megan and Tommy Saunders, Gallipolis, Ohio; Jodi Sydenstricker, Lebanon, Tennessee and Daniel, Elizabeth and Emily Lane, Matthews, North Carolina and great-granddaughters, Emma and Kate Saunders, Gallipolis, Ohio, who were her heart.
She will be greatly missed by her loving sister, Lynn McCarley and special niece, Fabrienna Hannon, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; great niece, Jessica and Greg Keane, Frederick, Maryland and her beloved cat, JJ.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM August 3, 2024, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with a Receiving of Friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday.
