Jerry Lynn Back, Sr
October 2, 1952 — December 6, 2004
Jerry Lynn Back Sr., 52, Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly December 6, 2004 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born October 2, 1952 at Athens, Ohio, he was the son of Eva Rae Akers Back, Gallipolis and the late Verlon Back. Jerry was raised in Logan, West Virginia and was a 1971 graduate of Logan High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he received the Commendation Medal and later was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1975. He later worked twenty-one years in the Meigs coal mines and was currently the owner/operator of Jerry's Heating and Cooling of Gallipolis.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Jerry (Penny) Back Jr., Sabillasville, Maryland and Kevin Back, Gallipolis, Ohio and one brother, Thomas L. Back, Columbus, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 10, 2004 at White Oak Baptist Church, Nibert Rd, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis, Ohio. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Gallia County Veteran Services Organizations.
